Hello my dears! I just wanted to plug a Beatles-related community of mine here, see if some of you might be interested.

Nothing Is Real is a Beatles role play community! It partly deals with mature themes, which is why we are friends only, but you can of course join just to read the threads. We are open to gen, het and slash. AUs are accepted, but not original characters. The game is mostly centred around the Beatles but any character even loosely connected with the 60s or 70s art scene is welcome, really.
It's a 'no strings attached' sort of role play which basically means that you can apply for as many characters as you want, Beatles, Beatles wives or friends and there can be as many players as we want, even for the same characters. You can also choose your time and space span, build it up through several threads or jump from one thing to the other freely. It fact it isn't a well-built rp as much as a den, a place for you to meet other role players and start threads freely with the ones you like.
If you are interested in role playing in the Beatles universe, don't be scared to have a look around at the rules and introduction posts, and message me if you have any questions! Role playing is pretty much like reading/writing fan-fiction, except that you do it with one or several other people, which is always good fun, unexpected and stimulating. Hope to see you around!

Plus right now we're having a themed application for the Beatle girls! We're trying to get the community more active again, so it should be fun!

Jane is in BBC2's new series "Maestro", in which she competes with seven other celebrities to be the conductor at the BBC Proms in the Park on 13 Sep 2008.

Hello everyone, Andsoshewrites here! And as you may or may not know, I started a Beatles slash RPG, called thebeatleworld
And wow. I never realized the writers I'd get. Honestly, everyone is such an amazing writer, and I am so lucky to have the chance to write with them and to have them as a part of my RPG.
But I know there's been some complaint about everything that's been being posted lately in Beatle comms, and I just thought that I'd tell everyone about thebeatleworld. So far we have a Paul (me), John, George, Ringo, Brian, Cynthia, Pattie, Bob Dylan, and even a Derek Taylor.
And I personally think the storyline is great. Everything works out quite well. Here are a list of some of the relationships that have been played in the RP:
John/Paul
John/Brian
Paul/George
Brian/George
Cynthia/Bob Dylan
And of coarse, John/Cynthia and George/Pattie.
We post quite often, and all the NC-17 threads are friends-locked, but you can join just to watch :D/

The book Birds of Britain is an amazing, gorgeous book of '60s photography that is basically a Who's Who of my idols: Pattie is the covergirl and first exhibit, Jane Asher has a lovely two-page spread, Sammy Juste is in it, my namesake Hayley Mills, Dusty Springfield, Chrissie Shrimpton, Mary Bee, on and on.
Unfortunately, it's INCREDIBLY rare, and thus generally sells for upwards of $650. I've seen a copy for $250, but that was because the cover had fallen off (no good).
Then I randomly searched it on eBay, and lo and behold, it was selling for only $31. INCREDIBLE! So I called my parents, who have an eBay account, and they bid on it for me for my birthday.
They lost by a dollar, and the book sold for over $100 (I never would have asked had I thought the bidding would go that high!).
So I went to my trusty librarians here at school and I asked them if there were any libraries that could interlibrary loan it to us.
Two libraries in the United States own this book.
The New York City Public Library.
And the public library across the street.
WHAT ARE THE ODDS??

Just a few of the photos from the book, because they're truly beautiful (and I love spreading the obscure '60s, as you all know). I accompanied them with the short, superbly British, superbly '60s captions to the photos. If a book tried to write this way about female professionals -- albeit models, Bond Girls, etc. -- today, they would slap the writer. I LOVE this kind of stuff.
